Engineering Product Manager

Learn about our culture to see if TAHO is a fit for you.

TAHO, Inc. is a remote-first software company with employees across the US on a shared mission to unlock computing hardware performance. We develop and sell TAHO (Trusted Autonomous Hybrid Operation), a software mesh designed for deployment and runtime architectures. We are focused on building category-defining technology in software, helping organizations drive better performance, efficiency, and adaptability. As a fast-growing startup, we are looking for team members who thrive in high-impact roles and embrace challenges.

As of August 2025, we have captured SEED funding, and we are pursuing additional customer traction. Our target is to achieve one million dollars in annual contract values by year-end 2025 and a one billion dollar valuation in three years. We are a first mover and category creator with pragmatic near-term goals. Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to unlock true computing efficiency for the entire world.

We are hiring a Product Manager to bridge the gap between customer insights and engineering execution. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic product thinking with tactical execution, you will translate customer problems into clear engineering priorities, validate features before they're built, and ensure our team ships what the market actually needs. You will work directly with our 7-person engineering team, executive leadership, and customers to define what we build and why. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at validating assumptions, making daily prioritization decisions, and preventing wasted engineering effort through ruthless focus on customer value.

The mission of this role is to drive TAHO’s product execution with precision, velocity, and customer obsession to ensure every engineering cycle translates directly into market traction. Operate with extreme ownership, enforce ruthless prioritization, and prevent wasted effort at every turn. The Engineering Product Manager is not a coordinator. They are the force multiplier between customer validation, engineering focus, and business impact.

This role requires a builder’s mindset: transforming ambiguous signals into clear priorities, inspiring engineers to ship with confidence, and ensuring we only build what customers will pay for. This role must fluidly switch between:

  • Customer insight and validation, translating raw market feedback and discovery into actionable product direction, identifying which problems are worth solving, and ensuring every build is validated by customer needs.
  • Execution alignment with engineering owning the roadmap, defining clear success criteria, and ensuring engineering output matches business goals without drift or wasted cycles.
  • Cross-functional communication and decision-making connecting product, leadership, and customers through clear documentation, tradeoff decisions, and narrative alignment that keeps the company focused and fast.

TAHO is a cutting-edge tech company that requires adaptability, a commitment to continuous learning, and innovative thinking to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving environment. Individuals must possess strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset, ensuring they can identify issues effectively while prioritizing customer needs. Collaboration and teamwork are crucial, as working well with others and contributing to a team-oriented culture drives success. While technical proficiency varies by role, a basic understanding of the company's technology is beneficial, with deeper expertise essential for technical positions. Ultimately, thriving in such an environment hinges on the ability to adapt, learn, innovate, solve problems, and prioritize customers.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Own and evolve the TAHO product roadmap based on validated customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Translate customer problems and market opportunities into clear product requirements and feature priorities.
  • Make daily "should we build this?" decisions using customer validation data
  • Define what success looks like for each feature and ensure engineering understands the "why" behind priorities.
  • Partner with CTO and executive leadership to align product direction with business goals and technical capabilities.

Customer Discovery & Validation

  • Synthesize customer feedback from executives, sales, and direct conversations into actionable insights.
  • Identify which customer problems are worth solving and which can be deferred or cut.
  • Build relationships with early adopters to validate product decisions and gather continuous feedback.
  • Engage directly with customers and prospects to uncover genuine challenges, moving beyond mere feature requests.

Hands-On Execution & Engineering Partnership

  • Write clear, scoped user stories and tickets with explicit success criteria and customer context.
  • Facilitate and lead sprint planning meetings with the engineering team to define sprint goals, select user stories, and allocate tasks, ensuring alignment with product roadmap and overall project objectives.
  • Review the product backlog, estimate effort, identify dependencies, and address any potential roadblocks to ensure a smooth and efficient development cycle.
  • Unblock engineering by making scope and priority decisions quickly without requiring executive escalation.
  • Document product decisions so they don't get relitigated and engineering time isn't wasted.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

  • Track what competitors are shipping and why it matters.
  • Identify TAHO's strategic differentiation points and ensure roadmap reinforces them.
  • Recognize underserved market segments and opportunities for TAHO to succeed.

Scope Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Ruthlessly cut features that don't move the needle on customer adoption or business goals.
  • Identify when the team is building technically impressive features that customers don't need.
  • Flag when runway versus roadmap math doesn't work and propose adjustments.

Technical Understanding & Communication

  • Develop sufficient understanding of TAHO's core technologies to make informed product tradeoffs.
  • Translate technical capabilities into customer-facing value propositions.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on architectural decisions that impact product direction.
  • Bridge the gap between executive customer conversations and engineering implementation.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of product management experience, ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, or platform products.
  • Proven track record of shipping products from 0→1 in competitive markets.
  • Strong customer discovery skills with experience running interviews and validation tests.
  • Ability to write clear product requirements and user stories that engineers can execute against.
  • Experience making prioritization decisions with incomplete information and validating quickly.
  • Understanding of serverless computing, container orchestration, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure (conceptual understanding required; deep technical expertise not required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can explain complex concepts simply.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to identify what metrics actually matter.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and making decisions that unblock teams.
  • Track record of saying "no" to features and explaining why with customer data.
  • Experience with AI/ML workloads and data pipelines.
  • Software engineering background or technical degree; ability to read code and understand architectural tradeoffs at a deep level.
  • Previous experience at early-stage startups (seed to Series A).
  • Understanding of competitive dynamics in serverless/edge computing markets.

What to expect in the first 30 days:

  • Sit in all customer and prospect conversations to understand pain points firsthand.
  • Audit current roadmap: identify what's validated versus assumed.
  • Write clear, scoped tickets based on customer validation.
  • Identify quick wins that can ship in 4-6 weeks versus longer-term projects.

What to expect in the first 60 days:

  • Own the product backlog with clear priorities based on validated customer needs.
  • Establish customer feedback loop: regular interviews, validation tests, and synthesis into roadmap.
  • Reduce confusion by documenting the "why" behind every major product decision.
  • Conduct 5-10 customer interviews to validate existing priorities.
  • Make first set of hard scope cuts: kill features that don't drive adoption.

What to expect in the first 90 days:

  • Deliver first set of validated features that customers actually adopt and use.
  • Establish clear product narratives that sales and marketing can use with prospects.
  • Identify TAHO's top 3 competitive differentiation points and ensure roadmap reinforces them.

What to expect in the first 6 months:

  • Increase percentage of shipped features that drive measurable customer adoption.
  • Build trusted relationships with 3-5 early adopter customers for continuous validation.
  • Establish product decision-making cadence that keeps engineers unblocked and focused.

What to expect in the first year:

  • Ship MVP that drives customer adoption and validates product-market fit hypothesis.
  • Establish TAHO's product positioning against competitors.
  • Build repeatable product development process: validate → prioritize → ship → measure → iterate.
  • Prevent wasted engineering effort by ensuring team builds what customers will pay for.
  • Shape TAHO's trajectory as a category creator in post-cloud architecture.

Perks:

  • Freedom & flexibility; fit your work around your life.
  • Home Office Setup: We want you to be comfortable while working.
  • Training stipend for conferences, courses, and classes.
  • Equity: We are a growing start-up, and we want all employees to have a stake in the company's success.
